My little backyard garden

Hard to believe that it is almost August when my backyard is still looking so green. I thought I'd show you some photos of my little garden which is just behind our back gate.

This spring we got a few more raised garden boxes made and the kids helped me plant all the seeds for our little garden. With the wet and cooler weather this spring it took a little longer to get started but it is doing great now.

Mike has been bringing home black mats that we have been putting down to help block the weeds. Which is helping out a lot. To bad they grow so easily.

Here is the view of the garden from Owen's little pumpkin patch behind the neighbor's yard. Looking like a wild jungle. Time to do some trimming and weeding again.

My cherry tomatoes are starting to turn red. :)

We have summer squash and zucchini. We planted them in little cups and put them in my little green house but the wind came along and blew my green house over so the seeds got all mixed up. So I have a very interesting mix of plants but they seems to be doing great anyways.

This green giant is my green bean tee pee. They took forever to sprout but are taking over now.

The Bunny Farm (aka funny farm)

Two of my little composters, Coco and Licorice. It is amazing what they will eat. I give them all my weeds, dandelions, fruit & veggie scraps, corn stalks, leaves and sticks. They have a two story rabbit hutch with a 8' x 8' rabbit run behind it. They come running when they see me cause I usually have something good for them. :)

Fusion Fest 2011

This weekend is Boise's own Fusion Fest. A full weekend of bellydancing shows, competitions, workshops and tons of fun. Habibi Nada (my new dance troop) performed on opening night at the Under Belly show. It was so much fun and wonderful to see all the pretty girls in their awesome costumes and of course mind blowing belly dancing. Here are a few photos from our performance. I'm headed back this evening to watch the professional show which has dancers from all over the Northwest here to dance for us. :)

Canyon County Fair

Yesterday we headed down to the Canyon County Fair. The Idaho Press Tribune was having free admission for opening day from noon to 2pm so we got in free. The kids and I looked at the 4-H exhibits then watched a cooking demo and sampled food. Then we walked around the animal barn and stopped to watch the reptile show. Then we headed to the carnival where Mike met up with us and the kids got wristbands and went on as many rides as they could until we headed home just before 10pm. We lucked out that the weather wasn't really hot only 90 degrees. :)

Camping at the Snake River

Uncle Cody came home to visit so we all went camping at the Snake River. Where we had a great time fishing, boating, floating, playing games, doing crafts and roasting marshmallows. It was a nice trip and I took a ton of photos here are just a few. :)

Family fun after a busy day of moving

Once all the big furniture was moved out of the uhaul the kids thought a water fight sounded good. We started off with water balloons but then it turned into hoses and buckets. Lots of good fun.

Landon Michael Weideman

Mike's sister Ruby had Landon on July 12th, 4:04 p.m.! 7lbs 15 oz. 19 3/4 inches. We all went to see him yesterday after they had been home for a little while. We all took turns holding him while we watched Ruby open a few baby gifts and ate pizza. We all look forward to watching him grow up with the care of his four big sisters. :)
