Alysha's Sweet & Sour 16th Birthday

This weekend we celebrated Alysha's 16th birthday at the Rollerdrome with a bunch of her friends. Since she isn't completely sweet, we had a Sweet and Sour 16th birthday party with sweet & sour candy, rainbow colors & patterns and light up accessories to roller skate with. It was a lot of fun even if it did fall on a super busy & crowded Saturday afternoon at the Rollerdrome.

After the party the five of us went to dinner at Red Robin then to the Edwards Theater to see the new THOR movie, which was a great ending to a fun & busy day.

Happy Halloween from the Hardys

Halloween is a big event around our house. This year we did not have a haunted house because I'm going to school so my free time is very limited. We decided we would go to Boise to trick or treat with my sister, Molly and her family. Mike had already made a scarecrow costume for his mom's fall party so he just made a few changes to it. Alysha picked out her eerie zipper makeup kit which ended up being an awesome part of her Zombie costume. Ashley decided to be Katniss Everdeen from the Hunger Games. Owen could not decide on anything but we found a cool shooting jacket at the second hand store and he ended up being a Zombie Hunter. I've been so busy with school and family I left my costume until the last minute but ended up ripping up some old clothes and using some makeup for an instant Zombie MOM. We took a few photos at home then headed to Boise to my sister's place. Where they are all dressed up and ready to go trick or treating. We all walked over to Warm Springs Ave where all the big fancy houses were all deck out and handing out tons of candy. The kids all got a lot of candy and had a great time. Even us big kids had fun with our costumes. It was a late night but it was so fun. Okay, accept for trying to take the Zombie makeup back off.

Pumpkin carving time

Once back at home we took advantage of the nice weather and carved our pumpkins in the backyard. We had fun creating our masterpieces. Then we set them in the front yard to display them. Since we aren't going to be home on Halloween we lit the candles a day early so we could enjoy them.

Ashley helped me cut out little paper bats for candy wrappers to put on chocolate bars for all the neighbor kids. Ashley and Owen handed them out early since we will be gone on Halloween.
