Placerville

We headed up to Placerville for an early 4th of July celebration at Mike's friend Scott's cabin. I made Mike's Adventure Rider Birthday cake to take up with us. It was an interesting night with a roasted pig, front row seating to the best little town firework display and bon fire.

Quick trip to Riggins

The kids and I made a quick trip to Riggins to my dad's house to see my grandfather. The day we arrived they were just getting ready to BBQ grandpa's salmon he caught that morning on the Salmon river. My brother Cory did a wonderful job cooking it. Uncle Cory gave Owen a new fishing pole and taught him how to use it. Ashley was in charge of counting and dividing up all the change grandpa had been saving for them. The kids has a lot of fun playing with the little irriagation cannal in the front yard, damming it up and floating little boats. They even watered grandpa Rick's yard when they forgot to take the dams out. It was a quick trip but was nice to see all the guys.

Day of fun in Boise

We spent a day in Boise at the Aquarium and the Boise Zoo with Mike's family and nephew visiting from Louisiana. It was a fun day with all the kids. It was also Mike and my 7th anniversary.

Family reunion camping trip

Mike's family all headed to Bull Trout Lake Campground close to Stanley for a family reunion. Mike had already made other plans with his adventure rider club so I decided to take the kids so they could hang out with their cousins. The kids had a great time playing together, hiking around the lake and playing in the water. Owen patiently fished and finally caught a couple small rainbow trout.

Summer started off cold and windy probably because I signed Ashley and Owen up for swimming lessons at the outdoor city pool. Even though it was cold they still enjoyed swimming. Everyday after swimming lessons we went over to the park and they got a free lunch. Then we would head home to play with friends. One of the days we got to babysit my 4 nieces and nephew while Aunt Ruby was working and Uncle Scott had a class at BSU.

The second week of swimming lessons was a lot nicer since the weather warmed up. We even got to take Landon with us one day. The kids wrapped up their two week session of swimming lessons and get to move up to level 2 which we'll start in July.

Today, we are celebrating Father's Day. We made Mike biscuits and gravy for breakfast and he received two new shirts and a remote control helicopter. The kids helped him fill up the pool in the backyard then played in it. We will BBQ steak later this evening. Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful Dad's & Grandpa's!
