Visiting my Grandfather

I had a wonderful visit with my grandfather and aunt Lee this week. We took a drive out to see the tulip fields, tree farms and beautiful green scenery around Salem then had prime rib. The weather was unbelievable, sunny blue skies in the 80's not the Oregon coast I was expecting. We took a drive over to Lincoln City to get salt water taffy, a wind sock and see the ocean then we had a yummy seafood lunch at Dory Cove. Aunt Lee and I did some shopping then met grandpa for lunch at McGrath's Fish house. It was a short visit but I truly enjoyed it. Looking forward to taking Mike and the kids in August.

Back at home, we went to dinner at Panda Express then to the movies to see Journey 2 the Mysterious Island which was a lot of fun.

Spring Break Week 2

Our second week of Spring break was very busy with lots of family get-togethers. We went to dinner with Mike's family in Boise so since we were already there we decided to stop in the Aquarium for a little while. We almost had the place to our selves so the kids had a great time with all the animals. Mike even got up close and personal with one of the rays. We all went to Aunt Ruby's house for dinner and an after dark Easter egg hunt with flashlights. The kids had a great time hunting for eggs in the dark. We managed to get in another kids' building workshop this one at Home Depot where the kids made bird feeders then we came home to dye eggs. While we were dying eggs I told the kids about when I was in junior high and we had an assignment to take care of a hard boiled egg like it was a baby for a week. So the kids each made babies and took care of them for the rest of the day. Easter morning came with lots of goodies and another egg hunt in the backyard. Then we headed to Payette to spend the afternoon with my family. The kids got to do another egg hunt and play with more cousins. It was a beautiful sunny day and a great way to end the break. Now back to school!

Spring Break

To start off Spring Break the kids enjoyed a few days at home playing with friends. Then we got together with Molly, Mason and Delaney at the Boise Zoo for a fun filled afternoon.  Ashley did some cooking and Alysha built birdhouses for school. I had a belly dance performance which was a lot of fun.

April fool's day is always interesting around here with trip wires, small pull string fire crackers tied to doors, eye liner on the rim of cups, household items being rearranged etc... Then we spent another fun filled afternoon playing with cousins on Mike's side of the family. Now what to do for our second week of Spring Break?

Trying to catch back up.

While I was busy painting we got a little behind on other things so we have been trying to catch back up. Owen has decided that his gecko is a girl after looking through many library books so we are now calling her Lizzy. Owen's hair was getting very bushy so I gave him a hair cut. Ashley has been working hard at Ballet class learning a new dance for the up coming recital. Owen's 1st grade class was asked to sing in Spanish at the school's open house and Ashley received the Student of the Month award for Self-Discipline. Alysha is here also but likes to keep to herself lately so no photos of her this time.  They start spring break tomorrow so I'm sure I'll have lots more photos to share soon. :)

First ride of the year

I'm a little slow posting this on my blog. Last week was my first time this year out riding my motorcycle. I haven't been on it since once in the fall and a few times over the summer so took me a little while to remember what I was doing. It was a beautiful spring like day so we rode out of town to Adrian on the pavement. I really like the pavement! Then Mike took a sandy road up to the top of the hill where the Adrian A is. We then took a trail from there to the Owyhees. I had some trouble on the sand but it was good practice. Overall it was a nice ride and yes I need more practice. :)

Leo

Owen's newest best friend Leo the leopard gecko has been keeping him busy since his birthday. We got his habitat all set up in the living room where everyone can watch him. Once every few days Owen gets him out to play for a little while. We enjoy watching him catch crickets and meal worms.
