Spring Break Day 5

On our drive home we stopped at OMSI in Portland for a few hours to explore all the cool hands on science exhibits. We lucked out and got in free with our our Discovery Center family membership that was about to expire. There was so much to see and do that it was a little overwhelming. We stopped for lunch then got back on the road.

I can't resist stopping to see the waterfalls at Multnomah and we added a few other quick stops at the Columbia Gorge lookout and by a couple smaller waterfalls on the scenic bi-way, which is a beautiful drive. We lucked out and someone offered to take our photo.

Spring Break Day 4

On our last day in Salem my aunt Lee took us shopping. We had fun looking around the mall and bought the girls some new clothes and shoes. It was a fun girls shopping trip.

It's Salem, it was raining.

Spring Break Day 3

Our second day in Salem we took the kids to Riverfront park to see the hand carved carousel. We lucked out and there were a few people actually carving a few new animals in the workshop. We got a closer look at the wooden animals and all the drawings, very cool. Then we took a few photos in the park.

Spring Break Day 2

We made it to my grandfather's house in Salem. We were all happy to see that he was doing really well and spent the morning visiting. In the afternoon we took the kids to the A.C. Gilbert house/Discovery Center so grandpa could take a nap. We have been there a few times but it is always a lot of fun, plus we had a free family day pass to use up.

Spring Break Day 1

For Spring Break we decided to make a trip through Central Oregon to Salem to see my grandfather then we came home through Northern Oregon. Our first day we drove to Bend and stopped at the High Desert Museum for lunch and to stretch our legs. We spent two hours looking at the exhibits, the reptiles and walking on the outside nature walk. There was a lot to see from Native American exhibits to early pioneers.
Here are a few photos.

Ceramica

My brother Cody and his girl friend Marisa got the kids all gift certificates for Ceramica for Christmas. So we got together over Spring Break and painted. The kids had a blast picking out a project and then painting for a few hours. All their pieces turned out wonderful.
