Night full of dancing

Last night was Ashley's ballet recital and Alysha's first school dance.

Ashley did a wonderful performance with her ballet class from the Canyon Dance Academy's Winter Recital at the Caldwell High School's Auditorium. They were little sleepy time girls where they danced then fell asleep on stage. Then little fairies sprinkled sleeping dust on them and danced behind them. Followed by Santa checking to see if they were asleep then he placed two ballerina dolls (really teenage dancers) on stage. The dolls danced then the little girls woke up to see the dolls. It was a packed house full of family to see the kids dance.

Alysha and her friend Jacobi spent a few hours straightening Alysha's hair and deciding on what to wear to the dance at Heritage Community Charter School. I stopped in at the dance a little early to take a few photos of the girls. Looked like they had a nice time.

Snow People

So I've been keeping myself busy during the day working on these snow people for the kids' school lobby. Mike trimmed them and added cardboard stands on the backs and they are now ready to go to school.

Holiday Crafting Party

We spent an evening at grandma Reva's making fun holiday crafts. We made clay ornaments, wooden candle ornaments, hand print santas, thumb print reindeer cards and munched on wonderful snacks and desserts.

The elves... behind the scene

Ok, they don't only work on Christmas stuff. This project is for Ashley's oral book report. They are making a diorama of the book Bink and Gollie. Which is much more fun then writing a book report. The elves have also been hard at work on cookies, peppermint bark, sewing flax seed pillows, wrapping presents and counting down until Christmas. We have lots to look forward to this month. Ashley will have her Winter ballet recital, Alysha has her first school dance, three Christmas get togethers, and of course Christmas and New Years. Fun, fun, fun!! :)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

This year we got a free real Christmas tree from Fred Meyers. I had a $5 off coupon and a $25 credit from switching Ashley's prescription to Fred Meyers so got to use it for a tree and a canister of peppermint hot chocolate. We rearranged the living room to make room for it then got to decorating. Mike trimmed the tree, I put on the lights and the kids decorated.

Caldwell Night Light Parade

Last night we bundled up and went downtown to watch the Caldwell Night Light Parade. We lucked out and the weather wasn't too cold and the parade was very interesting.
