Valentines Day/Owen's birthday

Valentines Day is always a bit crazy around here since it's also Owen's birthday. This year the kids all celebrated Valentines at school with card exchanges and treats. I made the above dinosaur cupcakes for Owen's class. After school we quickly ate pizza and Owen opening some of his presents. Which were mainly clothes, every little boys favorite. Then we headed to Boise to meet my sister and family to explore, feed and pet the animals at the Idaho Aquarium. Owen's favorite place. We lucked out and had the place almost all to ourselves which was awesome. The kids were able to play all they wanted and had free run of the place.

Since Valentine's Day took up half of the day before we continued the celebration the next afternoon. Owen got to invite one friend to go with us to Jump Time in Meridian. Which is a huge warehouse full of trampolines and jumpy houses. We spent 1 1/2 hours jumping which was a lot of fun. Then we headed back to Nampa to the Northern Lights theater to watch Wreck It Ralph and eat dinner at the same time. It was a fun movie and yummy food. Then we headed back home to meet grandma Reva, Kristey and family to come over. Then Owen had to solve riddles to find his presents that were hidden around the house. Followed by a dinosaur pinata filled with toys and candy. Then if that wasn't enough sugar we had a dinosaur birthday cake and ice cream too.

Groundhog's Day part 2

Reva on her birthday

Groundhog's day is also Grandma Reva's birthday. She turned 74th this year. We made pizza, lasagna, salad and garlic bread  for dinner to celebrate. Followed by opening presents surrounded by some of her grandchildren. Then we had the birthday cake I made her.

Delaney at her birthday party

Groundhog's Day is a big day for both sides of our family. It was Delaney's 5th birthday so we all went to Boise to celebrate at her Fairytale party. With fun games, snacks, arts and crafts, a princess and the pea cake, plus opening presents. It was a fun filled afternoon.

School Ski Night

Ashley at Bogus Basin

This year Ashley was big enough to go with the school for Ski Night at Bogus Basin. She would only go if I was one of the chaperons so I signed up to ride the bus and help the kids get on their equipment and get them to their lessons. Then I helped a little with a few kids that were having a hard time keeping up with their groups. Ashley was grouchy during her lesson because I put her in the Intermediate class. She was bored out of her mind since they never made it off the magic carpet on the beginner hill. I thought the class would have been more advanced than that so next time I'll put her in the advanced class so she can go on the chair lift. I got to ski on my own while they were in lessons which was really nice. I haven't got to ski on my own in many years. I took a few photos while on the lift and skiing down the hill.  It was a pretty evening. Then I collected Ashley and we skied a few runs before heading into the lodge for a late dinner. It took us quite a while to round up all the kids and get all the equipment turned back in and get them all on the buses. It was a fun night even though it was a really late one for a school night.
